A fluid coupling device particularly useful with blunt cannulas, comprising: a housing formed with a socket; a plug of elastomeric material received in said socket and having an outer face exposed externally of the socket, said plug being formed with a slit leading to the outer face of the plug; and a cap attached to said housing and having an end wall overlying said outer face of the plug, said end wall being formed with an opening therethrough in alignment with said slit of the plug and having a diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the blunt cannula, and with anannular conical section circumscribing said opening for guiding the blunt cannula via said opening into the slit in said plug.
