The invention relates to a device for orientating a holder (11) for the machining of a workpiece on a machine tool. In order to reduce the time needed for the re-setting of the device, in particular during the machining of small and medium-sized batches, the holder (11) is connected via an elastically deformable clamping bush (18) to a machine table (1) or an intermediate flange (26) firmly connected to the machine table (1). The clamping bush (18) is in principle an annular, elastically deformable body which has a hollow chamber (19). The hollow chamber (19) is filled with a medium which, when acted upon by pressure, brings about uniform, elastic, radial expansion of the clamping bush (18). Very precise orientation of the holder (11) is possible within the shortest time due to the self-centring effect. <IMAGE>
