The subject-matter of the invention is a loading platform having two equal side walls located opposite each other. Each of these two side walls is, on the one hand, sensitive to pressure and, on the other hand, can be moved away or moved into an ineffective position such that the loading platform can be loaded with loading equipment, as a result of which there is a risk of the side wall which remains in its functional position and is located opposite the side wall which has been moved away or is in an ineffective position being damaged in the event of the loading equipment (e.g. fork-lift truck) coming too close. In order to counteract this risk, a spacer strip is mounted at an appropriate distance ahead of each of the side walls, which spacer strip prevents any further approach up to the side wall, possibly due to the fact that the personnel operating the loading equipment is made aware of it. Since each side wall can be the side wall remaining in the functional position and the side wall which is to be put into a non-functional position or moved away, the spacer strip in front of each of the side walls is likewise adjustable between two end positions. The one end position is the active position in which it acts in the manner described above in front of the side wall which is in the functional position.
