Polyamide compositions made fireproof by means of a red phosphorus-based fireproofing system. In particular, the polyamide compositions are made fireproof by means of a fireproofing system consisting of a combination of red phosphorus and at least one boron compound selected from the group which includes boric oxide, boron phosphate or a boron compound such as ammonium borate, or mixtures thereof.
