Process for preparing sulfonated water-soluble dispersants comprises the following steps: -- causing an indene-coumarone resin to react with SO3, in the presence of SO2 as solvent, with the ratio of SO3:resin, by weight, being comprised within the range of from 0.6 to 1.5, the reaction temperature being comprised within the range of from 20 DEG C to 90 DEG C; -- removal of SO2 from the reaction environment; -- neutralization of the sulfonated product with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal, or alkali-earth metal or ammonium hydroxide. The dispersants are incorporated in coal or concrete compositions. |
