PURPOSE:To enable easy and appropriate loading of a thermal recording paper and perform appropriate printing, by a construction wherein a platen roller separated from a thermal head at a closed position of platen roller separated from a thermal head at a closed position of a support member can be pressed against the thermal head by moving a cover to a closed position. CONSTITUTION:A support member 6 and a cover 9 are set into opened positions, a roll of thermal paper P is loaded into a holder 6a, and then the support member 6 is turned to the side of a closed position. In this case, the thermal paper P can be easily inserted into the holder 6a from one side of the member 6 (arrow B). At the closed position of the cover 9, a platen roller 8 is elastically pressed against a thermal head 2 by an engaging part 9a so as to correct the overhang of the head 2 against an elastic force of a spring 4, whereby an appropriate and fixed pressure is generated between the platen roller 8 and the thermal head 2. Consequently, appropriate printing can be performed on the thermal recording paper P inserted between the platen roller 8 and the thermal head 2. |
