PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material obtaining a sharp developed color image having an absorption region in a near infrared part and excellent in the storage stability of a background. CONSTITUTION:The thermal color forming layer formed on a substrate is constituted so as to contain ferric stearate, ferric behenate or a mixture of them characterized by that a ratio (H/W) of the height (B) of a main peak present within a range of an angle (2theta) of diffraction of 21.8+ or -0.5 deg. in the X-ray diffraction analysis curve of a Cu-Kalpha line and peak half value width (W) is 10 or more and having a main heat absorption peak in a differential thermal analysis curve at 100 deg.C or higher and a chelating reagent. |
