<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a paper jam at the time of delivering sheets with folds in a paper feeder. CONSTITUTION:An opening/closing cover 21 is fitted onto a device body 13 in such a way as to be closable around a supporting shaft 23 as a fulcrum. The base ends of arms 54 are rotatably connected to the supporting shaft 23, and a keep member 55 is rotatable fitted between the tips of the arms 54. The guide pin 57 of the arm 54 is engaged with the guide groove 22 of the opening/ closing cover 21. When the opening/closing cover 21 is opened at the make-up feeding time of sheets, the guide pin 57 is caught at the lower edge of the guide groove 22, and the arms 54 are rotated to lift the keep member 55 into the refuge position. In the case of delivering sheets with a folding habit, when the opening/closing cover 21 is closed after stacking these sheets, the guide pin 57 is caught at the upper edge of the guide groove 22, and the arms 54 are rotated to place the keep member 55 on the sheets. The sheets are thereby pressed from above by the weight of the keep member 55 so that the folding habit is straightened, and the sheets are then covered with the opening/closing cover 21.</p> |
