<p>PURPOSE:To provide a car-to-car distance control device adapted to continue the control even if the car speed becomes less than a designated speed. CONSTITUTION:A comparison signal output means 4 outputs a control signal based on the comparison between a car-to-car distance R and a target car-to-car distance TR, and a car speed control means 7 controls the car speed in such a manner that if TR=R, the speed is kept, if TR>R, the speed is decelerated, and if TR<R, the speed is accelerated. A control car speed varying means 8 gives a designated car-to-car distance control start speed as a controllable lower limit car speed (v), gives a value obtained by subtracting a designated value from the car speed V, taking the designated control start speed as the upper limit if TR<R, and gives a value obtained by subtracting a designated vlaue from the control car speed (v) at that time at designated time intervals if TR>R. A car speed comparing means 9 compares the car speed V with the control car speed (v) in the car-to-car distance controllable state, and if V>v, a control signal from the comparison signal output means 4 is selected.</p> |
