摘要 PURPOSE:To enable optimum pulley lateral pressure control in both positive and negative cases of actual transmission torque (input torque). CONSTITUTION:A pulley lateral pressure control device for a belt-type continuously variable transmission is provided with an actual transmission torque computing means B20 for computing actual transmission torque transmitted to a drive side movable pulley from an input shaft, and formed of belt transmission torque computing means B21, 22 for computing belt transmission torque by multiplying the computed actual transmission torque by a specified safety factor, and lateral pressure control valves B23-27 for regulating lateral pressure control oil pressure supplied to the drive side and driven side so as to obtain the above-mentioned belt transmission torque. At this time, the specified safety factor is set to the larger value at the negative time of the computed actual transmission torque than at the positive time of the computed actual transmission torque.
