PURPOSE:To obtain fine particles of a colored polymer without mechanical grinding and classifying operations by coating the surface of a pigment to be added with a dye beforehand in a method wherein the solubility of a specified polymer in a nonaqueous solvent is reduced to deposit fine particles of the polymer. CONSTITUTION:A method for incorporating a carboxylated or esterified olefin polymer and a pigment into a nonaqueous solvent to dissolve the polymer or dissolving the olefin polymer having a pigment incorporated therein in the nonaqueous solvent, and then reducing the solubility of the polymer in the solvent to deposit fine particles of the polymer, wherein the surface of the pigment is coated with a dye beforehand. By this technique, fine particles of a colored polymer having a mean particle diameter of at most 50mum with a sharp particle diameter distribution can be obtained without mechanical grinding and classifying operations. |
