FALSE TWIST YARN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide the subject processed yarn composed of a composite fiber containing a polyester synthesized by copolymerization of a compound containing a main chain type polyoxyalkylene group and a side chain type polyoxyalkylene group and a compound having a sulfonic acid metal salt group and having a soft touch in combination with a dry touch. CONSTITUTION:A composite fiber is prepared by using a copolyester composed of (A) dicarboxylic acid units partly composed of a dicarboxylic acid unit of formula I (Ar is a trivalent aromatic group; M is a metal atom) containing a sulfonic acid metal salt group, (B) diol units of formula II [R 1 is an alkylene; (m) is 10 to 100] and (C) side chain units of formula III [R<2> is an alylene; R<3> is a 1 to 18C hydrocarbon; (n) is 10 to 100; (x) and (y) are each 0 or 1] as one component. The ratio of the component (A) is 0 to 10mol% based on the whole acid components and the components (B) and (C) are contained respectively in an amount of 1 to 49wt.% based on the whole copolyester. The total amount of the components (B) and (C) is 2 to 50wt.% based on the whole copolyester. The resultant composite fiber is false twisted, thus producing the objective false twist yarn randomly containing a hang-up part (a) and a non-hang-up part (b) and having a soft touch in combination with a dry touch.
