<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the malfunction of a latch assembly when impact forces are applied to the assembly, and at the same time, to realize latching actions through simple manual rotational drive. CONSTITUTION: A latch assembly 10 is mounted in a hole 114 formed in a door 110 for releasably securing the door 110 wit respect to a frame 112. The assembly 10 is provided with a cap 20 which is received over a support base. The cap 20 moves a narrow and long shaft 65, so that a latching pawl 80 connected to the shaft 65 is engaged with the inside of the frame 112 at a latched position.</p> |
