PURPOSE: To provide a tire made to reduce selectively the frequency of undesirable lug impact in the tire with a tread containing a large number of repeating design cycles, by constituting the design cycle with a sequence in a specific combination of three kinds of pitches with different lengths. CONSTITUTION: A tire 10 comprises an outside surface 11 as well as a tread. A large number of typical tread design cycles 12-22 spread over on the circumference. In addition, design cycles 12-22 are drawn which are perpendicular to a rotation axis 10 of the tire. Incidentally, an example is shown as follows: 33 pitches are used and the lengths of three kinds of different pitches is set up in a ratio of 9:10:11. Representing the short pitch, the medium one, and the long one respectively as S, M, and L, a sequence of these pitches is set up as follows: MSSSLMMSMLLMLLLMSMSSSMSLLLMMMSSSS. This reduces selectively the frequency of undesirable lug impact. |
