PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium in which a stable recording is performed with a simple structure and which has a large modulation factor by alternately arranging grooves each having a predetermined width ratio and depth and lands on a transparent board. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium has a transparent board 1 in which a plurality of guide grooves 2 are formed, and a thermally deformable recording film 3, and comprises grooves of guide grooves 2 and lands except the grooves 2 alternately arranged on a surface of the board 1 in such a manner that a ratio W1/W2 of a width W1 of the groove to a width W2 of the land is set to 0.2/1.4-0.5/1.0. A depth of the groove is set to lambda/8-lambda/50 to a reproduced wavelength lambda. In the case of the ratio W1/W2 smaller than '1', a groove recording is conducted, and in the case of the ratio larger than '1', a land recording is executed. With this structure, stable recording is performed with a simple structure, and an optical recording medium having a large modulation factor can be obtained. |
