Layered metal sheet with a thermoplastic resin in two layers, and process for its production

Laminate, including a metal sheet which has a surface carrying a single layer of hydrated chromium oxide or a double layer consisting of an upper layer of hydrated chromium oxide and a lower layer of metallic chromium, the said sheet being laminated with a thermoplastic resin in two layers consisting of an internal layer of polyester resin bonded directly to the surface of the metal sheet and an outer layer of a polycarbonate resin which is secured to the polyester resin layer by conventional film-lamination or extrusion-lamination techniques. Application: production of metal cans for packaging foodstuffs or beverages.
