<p>PURPOSE:To prevent previously a data cartridge using a wide magnetic tape from being erroneously inserted into the existing recording and reproducing device developed for the existing data cartridge using a narrow magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A 2nd data cartridge C2 developed to increase the recording capacity by expanding the tape width of the magnetic tape is provided with an erroneous insertion preventing means 36 for preventing the cartridge from being erroneously inserted into the existing 1st recording and reproducing device D1 for recording and reproducing the existing 1st data cartridge of the narrow magnetic tape.</p> |
