PURPOSE:To detect exact transfer efficiency with high accuracy in an image forming cycle and to obtain a high-quality image. CONSTITUTION:In this image forming device, a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred to a transfer material by a transfer device, and the device is provided with detection means 31, 32 and 33 detecting toner density before and after transferring the toner image on the image carrier, a means 34 for calculating the transfer efficiency based on the detected toner density before and after the transfer, and a setting means 35 for setting an image forming condition in order to control the transfer efficiency to be equal to or above a fixed value based on the calculated transfer efficiency. |
