Machine intended for the manufacture of a metal sheath including an inner tube, characterised in that it includes a station making it possible to supply the tube (T) to a second station where the wire (F) is wound around the said tube and a third station, located between the two first ones and including a blade (8), making it possible to cut the said tube to length. The tube (T) is pushed along its axis, this axis being coincident with the axis (XX1) of the metal sheath (G) in the process of being formed. The tube is advanced with the aid of a means identical to the one enabling the wire (F) to be advanced, the said tube being advanced intermittently. <IMAGE>
