PURPOSE:To provide an ultrasonic motor, which does not inhibit the miniaturization of the size of' the whole ultrasonic motor by a means supporting and energizing an ultrasonic vibrator and manufacturing cost of which is reduced. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is composed of a vibrator 2, to which a laminated type piezoelectric element 4 is fixed, which is expanded and contracted in the longitudinal direction and in which the longitudinal direction and the size of width are set so that resonance frequency and frequency, where the elastic waves of transverse waves using the direction of said expansion and contraction as the direction of propagation must be stood, coincide and stretching vibrations and the standing waves are generated simultaneously by the vibrational displacement of the laminated type piezoelectric element 4. The ultrasonic motor further has a sliding member 5 being mounted so as to be projected from a position corresponding to the loop of the standing waves of the surface of the vibrator 2 and drawing a rotational locus and being driven by both vibrations, a body to be driven 9 press-contacted with the vibrator 2 through the sliding member 5 and moved in the longitudinal direction of the vibrator 2 by the revolution of the sliding member 5, an engaging member 7 supporting a section corresponding to the node of the standing waves of the vibrator 2 and a support member constituted of a leaf spring 11, etc. |
