A device (10) for supplying pressure medium from hydraulic loads (13) to motor vehicles is proposed, in which device (10) the electric motor (14) of the starter (11) is used to drive a hydraulic pump (26). By means of an electro-hydraulic pressure switch (35) in the pressure supply system (12) and a switching relay (24), the electric motor (14) is switched on in accumulator charging mode indepedently of the engagement device (15) of the starter (11). The combined use of the electric motor (14) for the starter function and pressure supply function saves costs, constructional space and weight. <IMAGE>
