In order to adjust the intake pipe length in internal combustion engines, it being possible to open or close a second inlet cross-section (3), laterally arranged between beginning and end of the intake pipe (2), by swivelling a control flap (1), a control flap (1) is proposed which is characterised in that its external contour and its cross-section for the open and closed position are aerodynamically optimised.
