One-piece sheet-metal piston-rod guide, particularly for an oscillation damper, which comprises inter alia a tank tube and a pressure tube filled with a damping medium, a balance space being formed between the tank tube and the pressure tube, a piston-rod seal furthermore sealing the oscillation damper off from the atmosphere, comprising a stepped, annular, cap-shaped main body with a concentric guide surface for a bearing bush, a supporting surface for the piston-rod seal and a guide surface for guidance relative to the tank tube, at least one return opening, which is connected to the balance space, characterised in that, starting from the return opening/s, the outside diameter of the piston-rod guide and the inside diameter of the tank tube form radially narrow calming passages leading to the balance space, these employing the adhesion forces to ensure that the damping medium runs off on the inner wall of the tank tube.
