The invention relates to a therapeutic device for treating pathological tissue by means of focussed ultrasonic waves, which has a catheter (19) which can be introduced into the body of a patient to be treated and which is provided with at least one pressure sensor (D1, D2) in the region of its distal end. A control unit which is fed the output signal of the pressure sensor (D1, D2) emits a warning signal when the level of the output signal of at least one pressure sensor (D1, D2) exceeds a limiting value.
