A description is given of a strip former in which, to achieve non-harmful dewatering at high retention in the entry region of the forming section, a first strip forming shoe of curved design is provided assigned to the carrying wire, which shoe is followed by a forming roll assigned to the upper wire and wrapped around in a partial peripheral region, and this forming roll has arranged after it a second and third forming shoe which are arranged in the upper wire or in the carrying wire.
