Process for depositing, by electropolymerisation, a film of a composite material on an electrically conductive surface, according to which use is made of a mixture including (a) a monomer, (b) a substance forming a doping agent, (c) an auxiliary electrolyte and (d) a solvent, this mixture is subjected to electrolysis and the cathode or anode is polarised at a potential situated in the region corresponding to the electron transfer between the metal surface and the monomer. Before the electrolysis a solution is formed from the abovementioned mixture, in which the abovementioned substance is present either in the state of anion, cation, molecule, preferably organic molecule, and/or complex and dissociated into ions.
