PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fabric having tension and rigidity by subjecting a napped fabric comprising conjugate yarn composed of a specific copolyester and a fiber-forming polymer containing specific inorganic particles to alkali weight-loss treatment. CONSTITUTION:Napped fabric formed from (A) a copolyester composed of A1: 0.5-10mol% of a dicarboxylic acid unit of formula I (Ar is trifunctional aromatic group; M is metal atom) based on total acid components constituting the copolyester, A2: 1-49wt.% of a diol unit of formula II (R<1> is alkylene; (m) is 10-100) and A3: 1-49wt.% of a side chain group unit of formula III (R<2> is alkylene; R<3> is 1-18C hydrocarbon; (n) is 10-100; (x) and (y) are 0 or 1) based on the weight of the polyester, and 2-50wt.% total of the components A2+A3 and (B) another fiber-forming polymer of a polyester having >=85mol% of ethylene terephthalate unit containing 0.3-5wt.% of alkali-soluble inorganic particles having <=0.2mum particle diameter is subjected to alkali weight-loss treatment to give the objective modified napped fabric having handle, appearance and touch similar to those of natural fur. |
