PURPOSE:To provide a packing material which is a sheet-shaped packing material having high shock-absorbing property and holding property for an item to be packed and enables packing of an item in a simple manner without requiring complicated work, and which can be stacked in the form of sheet when it is stored and transported, so that space is saved. CONSTITUTION:A packing material comprises a soft base sheet 11 composed mainly of expanded synthetic resin and the approximately central portion of the sheet 11 is formed into a circular hold-up part 12 having a hold-up shape. An annular groove 15 is formed along the outer periphery of the central hold-up part and packing pieces 20 are formed outside the annular groove integrally with the groove so as to extend continuously therefrom, with each forward end thereof curving upwardly and inwardly. |
