PRODUCTION OF OLEFIN OLIGOMER

PURPOSE:To produce an olefin oligomer having a lowered pour point while keeping the viscosity index or suppressing the lowering of viscosity index. CONSTITUTION:An olefin oligomer is produced by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst. In the above process, a base-isomerized olefin produced by isomerizing a 6-30C linear alpha-olefin in the presence of a basic catalyst is used as the raw olefin.
