PURPOSE:To obtain a grafting precursor which provides a grafted arom. polycarbonate resin excellent in transparency, etc., by mixing a granular arom. polycarbonate resin with a specific vinylic copolymer under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A granular arom. polycarbonate resin is mixed under specified conditions with a vinylic random copolymer which has specified active oxygen atoms and comprises units of formula I (wherein X is R2; Y is C6H3R7R11, C00R8, CN, OCOR9, or CH2COOR8; Z is H or COOR8; R2 is H or CH3; R7 and R11 are each H, 1-3C alkyl, or halogen; R8 is 1-8C alkyl or 3-12C cycloalkyl; and R9 is 1-2C alkyl), units of formula II (wherein R10 is 1-12C alkyl, 3-12C cycloalkyl, or C6H4R7), and units of formula II [wherein R1 is H or R9; R3 and R4 are each 1-4C alkyl; R5 is 1-12C alkyl, (alkyl)phenyl, or 3-12C cycloalkyl; and m is 1 or 2] and/or formula IV (wherein R6 is H or R3; and n is 0-2) each in a specified amt., providing the grafting precursor. |
