<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for separating an azeotrophic mixture whose maximum shortcoming of large energy consumption for recovering the third component is solved by mitigating the consumption, in an azeotrophic distillation method in which the third component is added as an entrainer as well as a separation device using the method. CONSTITUTION:If a material liquid of water, benzine and ethanol is supplied to the intermediate stage of an azotrophic distillation tower 1, an azeotrophic mixture of water, benzene and ethanol distills from the tower top, and anhydrous ethanol generates from the bottom. The vapor distilled from the tower top is condensed using a condenser 2, part of the condensate being refluxed to the azeotrophic distillation tower 1 and some other part being conducted to a decanter 3 for separation into a benzene- rich layer and a water-rich layer. The benzene-rich layer is returned to the top of the azeotrophic distillation tower, while the water-rich layer is supplied to a PV membrane separation device 5. The component on the supply side of the PV membrane is almost entirely ethanol and benzene, which are, in turn, returned to the azeotrophic distillation tower 1. A small amount of ethanol and a major portion of water which permeate through the PV membrane are condensed using a condenser 7 and the condensate is discharged.</p> |
