PURPOSE:To provide a thermal head small-sized as compared with a conventional one, made short in recording time, capable of always recording a stable image of high image quality and capable of erasing the visible image. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 1 performing the recording and erasure of a visible image with respect to a recording medium is constituted by providing a recording heating resistor row 2 and an erasing heating resistor row 3 on substrates not parallel with each other. That is, the recording heating resistor row 2 is constituted by providing a glaze film, a heating resistor film, a current supply electrode and a protective film on the first substrate 10 in this order with 8-dot/mm resolving power. The erasing heating resistor 3 is provided on the second substrate 15 having an inclination of about 30 deg. with respect to the first substrate 10 and composed of the same material as the first substrate and constituted by providing a glaze layer, a heating resistor film, a current supply electrode and a protective layer on the second substrate 15 in the same material and layer constitution as the recording heating resistor row 2. The heating resistor film is formed in one strip like state with a width of about 2mm. |
