PURPOSE:To adjust an entry position of a manually-inserted medium to be image- formed accurately, by regulating travel of a paper sheet to a manually-inserted paper feed port for detection of the arrival of the paper sheet, conveying the paper sheet in the direction of an image forming means by the first distance, and then conveying the manually-inserted paper sheet in the direction of the manually-inserted paper feed port by the second distance which is longer than the first distance, and stopping the paper sheet. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet P which is inserted from a manually-inserting port climbs over a projection 81 and enters a device body. With an aligning switch 82 ON-signal, an aligning roller 38 is rotated normally to start conveyance, and the paper sheet P is stopped immediately after the rear end of the paper sheet P climbs over the projection 81. Under this condition, the aligning roller 38 is rotated reversely and the paper sheet P is conveyed backward to a paper feed base 29 side. If the reverse-rotation amount is larger than normal-rotation amount, the rear end of the sheet P is caught in the projection 81, and the paper sheet P is bent. When the aligning roller 38 is rotated normally again, the bent paper sheet P comes into uniform contact with the aligning roller 38 with its top end by its elastic force, so that the paper sheet P is aligned and is conveyed to downstream. |
