PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial leather having excellent handle. CONSTITUTION:The production method of artificial leather comprises a process of manufacturing nonwoven fabric of conjugate yarn, a process of impregnating the nonwoven fabric with a water-soluble sizing agent, a process of treating the nonwoven fabric impregnated with the sizing agent with a solution prepared by dissolving an alkali compound in an organic solvent having compatibility with water or a mixed solvent of a small amount of water with an organic solvent, splitting the conjugated yarn into ultrafine yarn, impregnating the prepared nonwoven fabric of the ultrafine yarn with an elastomer-containing binder, a process for coagulating the impregnated binder in a set state and a process of removing the sizing agent from the nonwoven fabric provided with the binder. Since the state of bulky nonwoven fabric formed in the state of the conjugate yarn is maintained until the nonwoven fabric is provided with the binder and processed into artificial leather, bulky artificial leather having excellent handle can be produced. |
