PURPOSE:To provide a p-toluylic acid production method capable of efficiently producing p-toluylic acid useful as a raw material for photosensitive colorants, fluorescent dyes, fungicides, pigments, agrochemicals, etc., from p-xylene by a microbiological conversion at low cost almost without requiring energies. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing p-toluylic acid comprises converting p-xylene to p-toluylic acid using a microorganism belonging to Rhodococcus. |
