PURPOSE:To provide a color printer capable of rapidly obtaining an intended printing result even when an ink deffiient state is generated. CONSTITUTION:A color printer 1 has a printing part 14, an ink defficiency detecting part 15 and a transmission part 16. When color printing data is transmitted to the printer 1 from an external device 2, the printing part 14 prints a color image on printing paper on the basis of the transmitted color printing image using a plurality of color inks. When ink high in use frequency among a plurality of the color inks becomes defficient according to the advance of printing and the printing part becomes an ink defficient state, the defficiency of ink is detected by the ink defficiency detecting part 15 and the transmission part 16 transmits the ink defficiency data to the external device 2. By this constitution, a user can rapidly confirm the data of color ink becoming defficient on the side of the external device and, therefore, the replenishing timing of ink is easily achieved. |
