PREPARATION OF ANTIGEN AND VACCINE FOR A TYPE HEPATITIS (HAV)

PURPOSE: To produce an antigen of hepatitis A virus (HAV) and an anti-hepatitis A vaccine by propagating a hepatitis A virus in component cells, dissolving the infected cells, recovering the resultant supernatant and purifying it by chromatography using an anion exchanger and gel filtration. CONSTITUTION: Purifying operation is carried out in the presence of a surfactant and chromatography is carried out using a support that holds virus particles or the capsid of a virus and elutes them later.
