PURPOSE:To provide an image recording apparatus constituted so that the operation thereof is not started when ink supplied for replenishment is not normal ink and capable of always recording a good image. CONSTITUTION:An ink cavity detecting sensor and an ink pellet detecting sensor are attached to an ink tank part. A cavity 11 with a diameter of about 1cm is provided in an ink pellet 10. Therefore, the pellet detecting sensor detects the presence of ink to be turned ON and, so far as the cavity detecting sensor is in an OFF-state, that is, the cavity detecting sensor can not detect the presence of the ink because of the cavity in the ink pellet 10, load, concretely, the power supply of a heater for melting the ink is turned ON. Under a condition other than this condition, the load is not turned ON and operation becomes an interrupted state. |
