PURPOSE:To prevent secondary accidents with capability of self-restoration maintained against damages brought about by car collision, and to protect a light source mounted for improvement of visual recognition from shocks. CONSTITUTION:In a traffic sign pole in which an opening on the upper end of a hollow pole body 10 carrying signs on its outer circumferential face is closed with a detachable cap 11 and the pole body is erected on a pedestal 12 for installation to the surface of a road, the pole body 10 is made up of an elastic body that absorbs shocks and is capable of making elastic restoration. A light source, made up by connecting a solar battery 13, a storage battery 16 and irradiation lamps 15 to a circuit substrate 18, is mounted to the pole body 10, and the irradiation lamps 15 are turned on, or turned on and off. |
