Wheel carriage for supporting a wheel of a motor vehicle, in particular a wheel with a flat tyre. The wheel carriage comprises a subframe for supporting the wheel, which is provided with at least one front running wheel, which is located on or in the vicinity of the centre longitudinal axis of the subframe, and at least two rear running wheels, which are located on opposite sides at a distance from the centre longitudinal axis of the subframe. The running wheels delimit a support surface on the ground for the wheel carriage. The wheel carriage is furthermore provided with at least two auxiliary running wheels which are located on opposite sides of the at least one front running wheel, at a distance therefrom and at a distance above the supporting surface.
