The high definition liquid crystal display includes a black matrix for preventing a thin film transistor from being deteriorated, which is formed on a upper glass substrate, a color filter superposed on the black matrix, a protective layer formed on the black matrix and color filter, and a transparent electrode, in which the protective layer and transparent electrode placed on a contact region of the upper substrate are removed to expose the glass substrate.
