The apparatus connects steel pipes by passing a longttudinal pipe through a transverse pipe, not by other connection means such as welding, bolt/nut or clamp so that it can make the outer face of the connection part smart and clean. The apparatus comprises an oil pressure cylinder (8); a water pressure cylinder (9) having a piston (6) interlocked with a piston (5) of the cylinder (8); a water vessel; a water inlet pipe connecting the water vessel and the water pressure cylinder (9); a check valve (12) installed in the inlet pipe; a water supply pipe connecting the check valve (12) with a water jet nozzel (14); upper/lower dies (3,4) having grooves for holding the transverse pipe and the longitudinal pipe; a sliding frame (17) making a circular packing (13) of the nozzel (14) tightly close to an openning part of the longitudinal pipe; a packing mean shutting tightly the other part of the longitudinal pipe.
