The method exactly examines the pattern electrode on a glass substrate to find whether it is open or short, and uses it as the dummy pattern. The method includes a common line connection means which shifts the odd number pattern electrode (X2m-1) to the left of the glass board, a terminal formation means which shifts the even number pattern electrode (X2m) to the right of the glass board, a terminal formation means which shifts the odd number pattern electrode (Y2m-1) to the lower edge, a common electrode connection means which extends the even number pattern electrode (Y2m) to the lower edge of the upper glass board, a common electrode examination means which examines whether it is open or short, and a pixel electrode examination means which examines whether it is open or short.
