This electric toaster, of the type consisting of a casing, a support chassis for the slices of bread to be toasted, an ejector mechanism for the toast, a heating arrangement formed of an electrical resistor and adjustable timer which determines the disconnection of the resistor and the ejection of the toast as a function of the temperature, is organized such that the electrical heating arrangement includes, at least, two bands of heat energy, inside each of which a maximum temperature is reached, each one different from the next, and, preferably, the heating arrangement consists of an electrical resistor which is supplied with electrical pulses on the basis of frequencies that differ for each band of heat energy. <IMAGE>
