PURPOSE:To make a sense of togetherness of a jog dial and a picture in their movement and to reduce mental fatigue of a user. CONSTITUTION:In the device for controlling a tape traveling speed by a rotating speed of the jog dial, a delay of an actual tape traveling speed by a tape traveling system 13 behind a speed instructed by a tape traveling speed instructing command calculated from rotation of the jog dial 11 produced by an arithmetic processing part 12 is detected by a comparing arithmetic processing part 14. Then, rotational resistance force in proportion to this delay amt. is given to the jog dial 11.
