PURPOSE:To prevent an unnatural accompaniment sound due to a change in chord halfway in an accompaniment section of one measure, etc., from being generated in an automatic accompaniment of an automatic bass, etc. CONSTITUTION:A base pattern memory 26 is stored with a front half pattern BP1(0) and three latter half patterns BP12(0,0)-BP12(0,2) of a 1st measure. One of the latter half patterns which matches the front half pattern BP11(0) is selected according to chords specified on a keyboard, etc., as to the front half and latter half of the 1st measure. For example, a latter half pattern which has the least pitch difference of the starting accompaniment sound in the latter half from the ending accompaniment sound in the front half is selected. For the automatic accompaniment, the accompaniment of the front half of the 1st measure is performed on the basis of the specified chord and pattern BP11(0) and the accompaniment of the latter half of the 1st measure is performed on the basis of the specified chord and selected latter half pattern. |
