The handlebar (1) of the invention includes a central tube (2) fixed symmetrically to the steering column (3), and two end tubes (4, 4') acting as or supporting handgrips (5, 5') attached to the central tube (2). The central tube (2) is provided, on either side of the steering column (3) with two holes (6, 6') able to allow the passage of two fixing screws (9, 9'). As the central tube (2) and the end tubes (4, 4') are joined together by fitting into one another, each end tube (4, 4') is provided with at least one slot (7, 7'), preferably an oblong slot, in the region where they fit together. The handlebar (1) includes an internal locking bar (10), whose length (L) is greater than that (l) of the central tube (2) and which includes two tapped holes (11, 11') located so that each fixing screw (9') can be screwed into a tapped hole (11, 11') after having passed through the hole (6, 6') in the central tube (2) and the slot (7, 7') in the corresponding end tube (4, 4') beforehand. <IMAGE>
