PURPOSE:To provide an electrophoretic gel for separation/recovery containing a high-molecular compound in which sol-gel transition takes place heat-reversibly such that sol prevails at a temperature lower than the transition temperature whereas gel prevails at a temperature higher than the transition temperature. CONSTITUTION:Since the electrophoretic gel for separation/recovery is an aqueous solution at a temperature lower than the sol-gel transition temperature, it can be formed easily into a desired shape. It can be gelatinated quite easily and quickly without accompanying any chemical reaction by simply raising the temperature above the sol-gel transition temperature. Furthermore, the gel can be dissolved easily after electrophoresis in order to recover an unseparated sample by simply cooling below the transition temperature without causing any denaturation of the sample. |
