PURPOSE:To provide a character code conversion system in which a character code can be easily and economically converted without considering the character code of an objective terminal equipment, in the character code conversion system at the time of inputting and outputting character data between a computer and the terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:In an operating system 2 of a central processing unit 10 which controls the transmission and reception of the character data with plural terminal equipments 9 based on a request from an application program 1, a discriminating means 6 discriminates whether or not the character code system of the terminal 9 is matched with the character code system of the central processing unit 10, and when the discriminated result of the discriminating means 6 is mismatching, a converting means 5 converts transmission data from the application program 1 from the character code system of the central processing unit 10 into the character code system of the terminal 9. Also, reception data from the terminal equipment 9 are converted from the character code system of the terminal equipment 9 into the character code system of the central processing unit 10. |
