PURPOSE:To generate musical performance data matching original music. CONSTITUTION:The melody of some part of the original music is inputted to a melody memory 4 and chord data on the original music are inputted to a chord progression memory 5. A rhythm pattern is a rhythm pattern memory 12 is selected according to the style and music constitution of the original music. A top note, an additional sound, a bass part, and a drum part are generated at the timing of the note chord of the selected rhythm pattern. The top note corresponding to the chord is generated through a top note table in a top note table memory 15 and the additional sound corresponding to the top note and chord is generated through a voicing table in a voicing table memory 16. The top note and additional sound are selectable between two successive sound pairs.
